Course Creation for University of Texas

Working under the direction of the department head I created a course titled: Access and Reference in Libraries and Archives for the University of Texas.

Process

The first step was to submit a proposal to the dean to approve the course.

After being approved I wrote an outline to submit to the department head

Using the outline as my base I created the content for each weekly module. I wrote the content, found readings, incorporated podcasts or interviews, created discussion boards, quizzes, and other assignments. 

I finalized everything with the approval of the department head and published the course on the learning management software Canvas.

I launched the course for the 11-week summer session in the summer of 2018. I had a full class of 20 students. I monitored the online learning space and graded the assignments as submitted. I received excellent feedback from the students at the end of the semester.
